The OMEGA w DIO-RLY-24A and DIO-SSS-24 outboards allow TTL level discrete signals to interface with real world systems. Although designed specifically to work with the OMEGA w DIO-PC-168, DIO-MC-168, and DIO-PC-48 digital I/O cards, the outboards can be used with any TTL digital I/O system. The DIO-SSS-24 outboard accepts solid state switch modules to provide 24 channels of input or output with 300 V isolation. The DIO-RLY-24A contains 24 SPDT 10 amp mechanical relays used as outputs. The outboards require 5 V power, which may be supplied externally or directly from the computer. To power the board from the computer a DIO-PIORCA cable attaches the board to a spare disk drive power connector in the computer. (This method is not recommended when multiple outboards are used.)
